Few foods are as comforting as a warm crumpet. Golden at the edges, wonderfully soft in the middle and covered with all those little holes ready to catch melting butter, it is a British favourite that can brighten breakfast, teatime or a cosy evening snack.

That makes crumpets a surprisingly cheerful theme for a present. Big Red Egg has six cuddly teddy bears devoted to this much-loved treat, each wearing a white T-shirt printed with its own upbeat crumpet design or slogan.

These bears are playful choices for birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries, thank-you gifts or an unexpected surprise. They are especially well suited to keen home bakers, breakfast enthusiasts, British-food fans and anybody who never needs much persuasion to put another crumpet under the grill.

Here are deliciously fun crumpet teddy bears ready to serve up smiles without leaving a single crumb.
